St James is a friendly, welcoming, Anglican church in the village of Westhead near Ormskirk, Lancashire. Our vision is to serve our community, be a place where we can encounter Jesus and make Him known to others.
Whether you live locally, are looking to relocate to the area, or just visiting family and friends, you are cordially invited to join us.
Church is far more than a building. It is a way of life, a way of living your life, a means of helping others, a means of helping and being involved in the community. At its heart is the global community of Christians who believe in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
The Church gathers primarily for worship, to celebrate all that God is and all that God has done, to be drawn into the life of the Trinity: the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We offer God songs and words of praise in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.
The Church welcomes everyone, irrespective of age, gender, background, race and sexual orientation.
